About Bella Aesthetica MedSpa
Bella Aesthetica MedSpa & Wellness Center – the premier facility of its kind in the Inland Empire of Southern California – is at the forefront of a revolutionary new approach to medicine, wellness and aging. Located in a lovingly restored historical building in Ontario, CA, Bella Aesthetica is a medical aesthetic center that specializes in the non-surgical cosmetic restoration of the face and body, as well as in general wellness/anti-aging treatments such as bio-identical hormone replacement (BHRT) and safe, medically supervised weight loss programs, for both men and women. Opened in late 2008, Bella Aesthetica MedSpa combines superior medical and staff credentials with a range of services dedicated to the overall health and beauty of its clients. Founder and Medical Director Ruben Ruiz, M.D., is a veteran internist who has also taught medicine for Stanford University and UCLA. Bella Aesthetica MedSpa’s menu of aesthetic services includes a variety of skin care treatments, including for color correction, skin tightening, wrinkles and acne. Other spa services include microdermabrasion, peels, Botox®, dermal fillers, laser treatments, cellulite reduction, Latisse® and waxing.

Ruben Ruiz, M.D.Founder/Medical Director
After being graduated from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles in 1978, Dr. Ruiz attended UCLA School of Medicine, where he was graduated in 1982. He performed his internship and residency in the Department of Internal Medicine at King Drew Medical Center in Los Angeles between 1982 and 1985. He began private practice in 1991, with the launch of Clinica Medica Familiar, which now operates the trio of highly successful family clinics. Dr. Ruiz’s extensive medical experience includes prestigious positions that include Clinical Preceptor of the Physician’s Assistant programs at Stanford University School of Medicine and College of Osteopathic Medicine of The Pacific; Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at UCLA/Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science. His professional appointments include Chairmanship, Physician Advisory Committee, Quality Assurance Committee, and Utilization Review Committee with prominent institutions such as King Drew Medical Center/Community Health Plan at King Drew, L.A. Immunizations Task Force, and Cerritos College. He has also been a recipient of the Physician’s Recognition Award from the American Medical Association. Dr. Ruiz has also authored papers and lectured at celebrated institutions such as Charles R Drew/UCLA School of Medicine, St. Mary’s Medical Center, and King Drew Medical Center, on a wide range of topics in Internal Medicine. Dr. Ruiz is licensed by the state of California and has enjoyed private practice since 1991. He is fluent in both English and Spanish. His desire is to provide the highest standard of comprehensive care, at an affordable cost, in a warm and caring environment.
Esther GarciaManager/Provider
Ms. Garcia is also a Licensed Medical Esthetician and professional make-up artist. She specializes in Organic Herbal Peel treatments. Angelita Ortiz-Senior
Nurse Practitioner/Provider
She is certified in the aesthetic cosmetic arts of BOTOX®, dermal fillers and laser treatments such as IPL photofacials and hair removal. In 1989, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Southern California (USC). In 1990, she earned her Master’s Degree from USC. In 1991, she earned her nurse-midwife and Nurse Practitioner certification from USC. Since 1994, Ms. Ortiz-Senior has been a clinical instructor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Keck School of Medicine at USC. She is bilingual and fluent in both English and Spanish. She joined Bella Aesthetica MedSpa & Wellness Center in December 2009 after five years of experience in the field of medical aesthetics, where she gained additional expertise and experience in hCG weight loss.
Rosa Pallan, PA-CPhysician Assistant-Certified/Provider
Ms. Pallan’s clinical and rotation experience includes Geriatrics, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Dermatology, Emergency Medicine, General Surgery, and Internal Medicine. She has completed research in the area of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery at King Drew Medical Center and has been involved with the community as an Emergency Room Volunteer at King Drew Medical Center, and La Libertad Medical Clinic. Most recently, Ms. Pallan has added to her distinguished credentials by receiving training in the field of Med Spa certification. Ms. Pallan is bilingual and fluent in English and Spanish and is passionate about her work with Hispanics. She is enthusiastically looking forward to the opportunity of building a future with Latinos, her Hispanic heritage, in both Family Medicine and in Med Spa Practice.
Afua Khumalo, RD, LEC
Registered Dietician
In 2000, she earned her B.S. degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Loma Linda University in Southern California. Since then, she has a decade of experience in weight loss counseling and has helped hundreds of clients lose weight and learn to keep it off. Her weight management philosophy includes positive lifestyle changes that help clients make their weight loss permanent. Ms. Khumalo also has five years of experience directing federally funded nutrition programs. Her experience in teaching cooking classes and her ability to prepare a variety of cultural recipes help her clients learn to prepare specific foods that they love in a healthful manner. She teaches a series of basic nutritional and lifestyle principles that help ensure that her clients will follow easy steps to a healthier, more enjoyable life built on good nutrition, moderate physical activity and a positive attitude.
Cristina Godinez
Esthetician / Make-up Artist
Her areas of specialization include facials, microdermabrasion, acne treatment, eyelash extensions, full-body waxing and make-up. Born in Port Chester, NY, Ms. Godinez relocated to Southern California in July, 1979. She received her education at Citrus College in Glendora, CA, where she was graduated in 2003 as an Esthetician I & II and Make-up Artist. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.
Miriam Ceballos
MedSpa Representative
Born in Mexicali, B.C., Mexico, Ms. Ceballos received her education at “COBACH,” Colegio de Bachilleres de Baja, California, where she majored in Media Communication. She began her career at Azteca America Channel 19-TV in Palm Springs, CA, in 2007. A year later, she moved to Univision, where she trained with Belleza Latina. Her professional certifications include media, beauty, and fashion. In 2009, she joined Bella Aesthetica.
Linda Ortiz
Receptionist / Administrative Assistant
Born in Pomona, CA, Ms. Ortiz received her education at Chaffey College in Alta Loma, CA, where she received as Associate of Arts degree in business.

Ruben Ruiz, M.D., is a veteran internist who has also taught medicine for Stanford University School of Medicine and UCLA / Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science. In addition to Bella Aesthetica MedSpa & Wellness Center, Dr. Ruiz also operates three well established and highly popular family medical clinics in Ontario, Pico Rivera and Rialto.
Esther Garcia is a well educated and highly qualified esthetician licensed by the State of California. She has nearly a decade of experience in the management of medspa facilities in Southern California. Ms. Garcia is also certified in microdermabrasion, ultrasound, interdermal micropigmentation and endermology. Her extensive training also includes a range of other disciplines and product lines, such as Murad, Topix Pharmaceutcials, Estee Lauder and Lancome.
Angelita Ortiz-Senior is a Registered Nurse Practitioner with nearly 20 years of experience in all aspects of general health, anti-aging and bio-identical hormone replacement therapy. She is also well versed in the discipline of wellness programs.
Rosa Pallan, PA-C graduated from Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science as a Physician Assistant in 2008. She is licensed by the state of California and Board Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
Afua Khumalo is a Registered Dietician and Lactation Education Counselor who specializes in weight management.
Cristina Godinez is a Licensed Esthetician and Make-up Artist who joined Bella Aesthetica MedSpa & Wellness Center in July, 2010 after seven years of experience as a medical esthetician at Obagi Clinic in San Gabriel, CA and Acquadoro Spa in Arcadia, CA.
Miriam Ceballos is MedSpa Representative at Bella Aesthetica MedSpa & Wellness Center, where she is responsible for outside sales and retail promotion.
Linda Ortiz is a highly experienced administrative assistant who joined Bella Aesthetica MedSpa & Wellness Center after a stint as receptionist and front desk supervisor at Hebe Med Spa in Brea, CA. Before that, she amassed more than a decade of business experience in retail and education-related positions.
